Sheriff discusses partnerships with Marlborough mayor

Middlesex Sheriff Peter Koutoujian visited Marlborough on July 9 to meet with Mayor Arthur Vigeant about community programs run by the sheriff?s office.

?Municipal partnerships are a top priority for me as sheriff, and I appreciated the opportunity to discuss our programs with Mayor Vigeant, who welcomes the prospect of collaborating with the Middlesex Sheriff?s Office,? Koutoujian said. ?I look forward to working with the mayor to utilize the resources we offer to better serve the residents of Marlborough.?

Koutoujian?s visit came as Marlborough youngsters participating in the Middlesex Sheriff?s Youth Public Safety Academy began their first day of camp in Billerica. During the weeklong camp, children ages 9-11 learn basic first aid and fire safety lessons, and are introduced to members of their local police and fire departments.

?Sheriff Koutoujian and I had a great meeting,? Vigeant said.? ?It is important for the city of Marlborough and the sheriff?s office to identify new opportunities for collaboration and partnership in the future. I look forward to working with him to build on and grow the city of Marlborough?s working relationship with the Middlesex Sheriff?s Office.?
